LINCOLN COUNTY, KY.  Will of Alexander Blain 1792 book C page 56.

In the name of God Amen.  I Alexander Blain, of the County of

Lincoln, being sick and weak of Body, but or and of perfect mind

and memory thanks be given unto God calling to mind the mortality

of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to

die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to

say principally and first of all, I give and Recommend my soul

into the hand of the almighty God that gave it, and my body I Re-

commend to the Earth, to be buried in decent Christian burial at

the Discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the gener-

al Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty

Power of God, and as tuching such worldly Estate wherewith it has

pleased God to bless me in this life, I gave devise and dispose of

the same in the following manner and form.   First I give and be-

queath to Hannah my Dearly beloved wife my negroes and moveable

affects for her support and at her and John Blains management

and at his death the said Estate to be sold consisting of Negroes

Horses Cattle and Hogs Sheep and my housel stuff of all kinds

after the sale Nancy Shackleford James Blain and Hannah McKinley

is to have twenty Pounds to be Paid to Each of them before any

other division also I give and bequeath to my Son John Blain the

tract of land I now live on containing 300 acres with all its

appertainaces also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Murrel

100 acres of land the said tract with its appurtenances my patent

Lands lying on the waters of Licking after John Martin gets one

third of it for location according to quantity quality I consti-

tute Hannah Blain James Blain and John Blain Executors I empower

James Blain or John Blain to make the said Martain Lawful right

 from me my heirs to him and his heirs or assigns and no fur-

ther and the remainder of the land to be divided in the manner

and form following.  Also I give and bequeath to my Son George

Blain 2 00 acres of land Part of the said tract lying on the

waters of Licking.  Also I give and bequeath to my Son John Blain

300 acres of the said tract and the remainder 300 to be sold

and added to the Principal sum that the Negroes and Stock will

bring and then to be Equally divided amongst the now mentioned

Legatees Marget Gay  Jean Montgomery, Nancy Shackleford Alce Hundley,

James Blain, Hannah McKinley and Sarah Merrel One half share  I

futher order that my Executors as soon as money can be raised out

of my Estate the        out of the office the lands of the Orphants

of Samuel Dinwiddie and make a return and I do hereby utterly

Disalow revoke and Dis annul all and every other former Testaments

wills Legacies Bequeaths and Executors by me in any way before named

willed and Bequeath and Confirming this and no other hereunto set my

hand and seal this tenth of April one thousand seven hundred and Ninety Two.

presents of us who in his Presents and in Presents of Each other
